Born from poetry, sobriety, and the journey through chaos into clarity.
The Clarity of Chaos came to be when I was first writing my poetry book. I was living in Paris going to school and writing my thesis project on addiction. I had been sober for about a year and a half and started having strong feelings of wanting to drink. Writing my thesis brought up imposter syndrome for me, I had never thought of myself as an academic person before and I was doubting myself.
So I wrote these poems to help process these emotions. When I was finished with my thesis I had over 25 poems and I noticed they were either about the chaos that addiction brought to my life or the clarity that sobriety gave me. So I decided to make it a book and call it The Clarity of Chaos. Soon I created a podcast with the same name.
Hi, I'm Hannah Turner
I have been in recovery from alcohol for over two and a half years. My journey toward sobriety began while I was studying at university in Parisāa pivotal chapter of my life both personally and creatively. It was during this time, while working on my thesis, that I began writing The Clarity of Chaos, a poetry collection born from the emotional turbulence of early recovery.
Overwhelmed by the urge to drink, I turned to writing as a form of expression and healing.

The Clarity of Chaos
BY HANNAH TURNER
This poetry book takes the reader on the profound journey from the dark closet of hiding a drinking addiction, to the sad wake up calls that life throws at you in the hopes you will wake up, to the emergence that happens once you make the decision to leave the dark closet and choose yourself. Living in the clarity of sobriety. My greatest desire is to have those who read this book to fee seen, heard and less alone in their own journey.
